In 2018, there were an estimated 436,366 Australians living with dementia. The number of people with dementia is expected to increase to 589,807 by 2028. For this reason, the progression of dementia research projects at the Melbourne Brain Centre at Royal Melbourne Hospital, led by Professor Amy Brodtmann and Associate Professor Nawaf Yassi, are critically important.
